About LawBot 2.0

LawBot 2.0 is the developed specifically for the University of Johannesburg’s undergraduate Law of Contract module (KOR0000/LCT41Y0) and is the second version of the chatbot. This initiative for the Law of Contract module is only possible as a result of the contributions and efforts of:

  • Prof Michele van Eck , who developed the idea and content of Lawbot 1.0 and 2.0 (based on the prescribed material for the Law of Contract module).
  • Prof Abejide Ade-Ibijole and the student development team from the JBS GRIT Lab, who was responsible for all things technical, including the graphics, design, programming and technical support of LawBot. A special shoutout is given to the tireless efforts of the following student developers:
    • Rapudi Hlakudi (student developer for Lawbot 2.0)
    • Thato Tsosane (student developer for Lawbot 2.0)
    • Nashik Sivparsad (student developer for LawBot 1.0)
Lawbot (versions 1.0 and 2.0) was only possible with the funding support of the University of Johannesburg’s Teaching & Learning Innovation Fund and the Faculty of Law’s financial support in the development chatbot. Added to this, Prof Abejide Ade-Ibijole provided a reduced fee for the Lawbot (versions 1.0 and 2.0) project and Prof Michele van Eck provided additional funding for the Lawbot 2.0 project.
